The First Week Of Form 4
“Growing apart doesn't change the fact that for a long time we grew side by side; Our roots will always be tangled. I'm glad for that.” - Ally Condie
I can’t believe I turned 16 in a blink of an eye. My form 3
life ended really fast compared to the rest of the years. Maybe it is because –
I enjoyed my life in form 3.
The first day of my form 4 was awkward. The new faces when I
first stepped into my class made me feel uncomfortable but thanks to my best friend
who saved up a space beside her, I get to avoid sitting with those I’m not
familiar with. As days passed, I managed to get to know a few friendly ones but
our conversation always ended in a few words. Unlike when I was in form 1, 2
and 3, the teachers assumed that we already knew our basics very well, and started
teaching in rapid speed. I managed to
catch up by paying full attention to the teachers and do notes as the class
goes on but it was very tiring.
4 Angsana is a pure science class and it is the best class
among the other form 4. Due to the reason everyone in this class are mostly top
students, the class is entirely quiet when the teacher is teaching. Even the sound
of a pin dropped can be heard. When it comes to a question by a teacher,
everyone was completely silent. It wasn’t because they didn’t know the answer.
It was because no one dared to answer the question, afraid that they’re wrong
(or because they are lazy to do so?)
Compared to 3 Angsana, the class is always noisy and lively
(even if the teacher is teaching so we always got scolded). Everyone didn’t hesitate
and fight to answer the teacher’s questions, even if the answer mostly turned
out to be illogical and funny. But there’s one thing that never changed despite
we’re in the different class and stream now – We still eat together during recess. That’s a promise between our gang and the
rest of the Angsana students so that we wouldn’t forget the friendship and
memories we created.
It might be hard for
the first week of school but I will work harder so I could fully understand the
teachers and the topic they’re teaching. I also hoped that our 3 year-old gang
could continue being active like what they’re doing right now.
